Sandvika is the administrative centre of the municipality of Bærum in Norway. It is situated approximately 15 kilometers west of Oslo and has a railway and bus station.
Sandvika is also home to one of Norway's largest shopping centres - Sandvika storsenter, containing 108 stores spread over 29,000 square meters.
There is a library, cinema and a recently constructed culture centre.
Sandvika received 'city' status in Spring 2003
