Sandgate, Queensland, Australia, a town 30 minutes drive northeast of the state capital, Brisbane. With a population of nearly 50,000 people, Sandgate is a major part of the northern segment of the Brisbane Metropolitan Area.
The town is situated on the coastline, along Moreton Bay. The Houghton Highway Bridge, the longest in the Southern Hemisphere, connects the northern part of Sandgate to the city of Redcliffe to the north. It is connected to the Brisbane CityTrain Network, and is served by three stations. The town comes under the jurisdiction of the Brisbane City Council.
The town consists of five suburbs, Brackenridge, Brighton, Deagon, Sandgate Town, and Shorncliffe.
