The San Diego Gulls are a minor league hockey team that play in the Pacific Division of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). Originally the team was part of the International Hockey League, but the team moved to Long Beach in 1995 and became the Ice Dogs. A new San Diego Gulls team was started, along with a new league, the West Coast Hockey League (WCHL) in 1995. Later the Ice Dogs joined the WCHL. In 2003 the WCHL became the Pacific Division of the ECHL
