Saint League



         


In 1684 Pope Innocent XI forms a Saint League with the Habsburg Empire (emperor Leopold I), Poland (king John III Sobiesky) and Venice against the Ottoman Turkish Empire to liberate christian Europe (treaty was signed at Linz in Austria). In 1686, after a peace treaty between Poland-Lithuania and the russian tsar was signed, Russia, Bavaria, Saxony and Brandenburg joins the league.
