Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is a provincial police force of Newfoundland and serves alongside the Royal Canadian Mounted Police who have been contracted by the provincial government since the great depression to provide provincial and community policing services. The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary serves mainly major metropolitan areas with the Mounties serving smaller and remote rural areas.
