River Yeo

There are several rivers called the Yeo in the West Country of England ("Yeo" is a local word for "river").

Somerset

• The River Yeo joins the River Isle near Langport to form the River Parrett. This river flows through Sherborne in Dorset, and the Somerset towns of Yeovil, Yeovilton and Ilchester.
• The River Yeo running from Compton Martin through Blagdon Lake and Congresbury to the Bristol Channel near Kingston Seymour is often called the Congresbury Yeo. The Yeo Valley company which produces organic yoghurt was originally based near Blagdon, but is now at Cannington, near Bridgwater.
• The Cheddar Yeo rises in Gough's Cave in the Cheddar Gorge, and is a tributary of the River Axe (a smaller river called the Mark Yeo joins the Axe at the same point). As with the "Congresbury Yeo", people in the Cheddar area simply call the river "the Yeo".
• The Blind Yeo, Land Yeo and Middle Yeo drain the moors between Clevedon and Tickenham to the Bristol Channel just south of Clevedon.

Devon

• The River Yeo joins the River Taw at Barnstaple.
• The River Yeo joins the River Exe just north of Exeter, having passed near Crediton to the north of Dartmoor.
• The River Yeo on the southern edge of Exmoor is a tributary of the River Mole (which is itself a tributary of the River Taw).
• The River Yeo joins the River Torridge near Bideford, having started near Hartland Point in western Devon.
