Risk: Lord of the Rings Trilogy Edition is an adaption of the fictional land of Middle-earth from The Lord of the Rings to the popular board game Risk.

The game consists of a cardboard board, depicting the northwest area of Middle-earth at the end of the Second Age, while playing pieces consist of two sets of "good" and "evil" miniatures in dark earth shades. The two "good" sets contain eleven archers, eagles, and Rohirrim — the two "evil" sets contain goblins/Orcs, trolls, and Ringwraiths. In addition, a plastic stand supports a cardboard "Ring".

Gameplay is similar to the original Risk, but there are additional cards that are effectively mission cards and also some special events cards. Strongholds and artifact symbols on the board modify attack rolls and there are additional "sea routes". The key difference is that the game itself is time limited with the Ring moving on the Fellowship's path at the end of each player's turn. With some good rolls, the Ring can have left the board (and thus ended the game), before any of the players can make a serious attempt at world domination.
