Rich Uncle Pennybags is the avuncular old man who serves as the mascot of the game Monopoly. Despite the outcry from dedicated fans of the game, Rich Uncle Pennybags was rechristened "Mr. Monopoly" in a Hasbro marketing effort in July 2000.
