Repton School
Repton School, founded in 1557, is a public school in Derbyshire, England. Students have been in attendance at Repton since the 12th century, though some of the remains of the oldest buildings date back to the 6th century. Like many British public schools, Repton is subdivided into various houses within which the students are allocated. Repton has 10 such houses (6 boys, 4 girls) housing approximately 60 pupils in each. Whilst Repton competes in a variety of sports typical of a medium sized English public school (Football, Rugby, Athletics etc...) in recent years Repton has excelled in Hockey and Tennis. Former students of note include Roald Dahl (author), Harold Abrahams (100m Gold Medalist, 1924 Olympics), Stuart Hampshire (Oxford philosopher) and Jeremy Clarkson (television presenter for the BBC's Top Gear).
