Real Player
RealPlayer is a media player by RealNetworks that plays many multimedia formats including its own RealAudio and RealVideo codecs as well as other major formats (.MP3, CDs etc.) and also contains CD burning capabilities, media library, a web browser (based on Internet Explorer) and other features. The newest version of the program is RealPlayer 10. RealNetworks had named their product as RealPlayer until up to version 9, which was called RealOne Player. Version 10 has seen a change of action from the company, reverting back to the former name. It has an open source equivalent that is called Helix player.
Recording RealPlayer streaming media
It is possible to save RealPlayer streams (*.rm, *.ram) to your
computer using special software - for example,
StreamBox VCR (see link below) or MPlayer.
