Ranger Tab

The Ranger Tab is a decoration of the United States Army which signifies completion of the U.S. Army Ranger School, a grueling 3 month course providing instruction in small-unit combat tactics in woodland, mountain, and swamp operations.

Those graduating from Ranger School are presented with the Ranger Tab which is worn on the upper left sleeve of a military uniform. The tab is permitted for wear for the remainder of a military career, even if an individual is not actively assigned to a Ranger unit. The cloth version of the Tab is worn on the battle dress and class A uniform in the Army, and a smaller, metal version is worn on the more formal dress blue and dress mess uniforms.

The Ranger Tab is very similar in design to the U.S. Army's Special Forces Tab.
