Promissory note

A promissory note is a contract detailing the terms of a loan. They typically include the length of time that money is to be borrowed, the structure of payments, and what, if any, interest is to paid. For loans between individuals, writing and signing a promissory note is often considered a good idea for tax and recordkeeping reasons.
