A preppie is a person who attends or has graduated from a preparatory school. Generally, it refers to the mannerisms or dress of a person who attends a preparatory school. It is often used pejoratively for one who appears conservative or is otherwise reserved.
The term is also used in American high schools to describe any popular person, especially one who is on the school's cheerleading or football team.
