Prehensile

Prehensile is an adjective referring to a body part adapted for grasping or holding.

Examples of prehensility include the tails of monkeys and opossums, the penises of dolphins, the trunks of elephants, and the proboscises of tapirs.

The word is derived from the Latin term prehendere, meaning "to grasp."
