Power, Corruption & Lies

Power, Corruption & Lies is the breakthrough album by synth pop band New Order, released in 1983 (see 1983 in music). The band's second album, after forming out of the ashes of Joy Division following the suicide of Ian Curtis, Power, Corruption & Lies achieved more widespread popularity than any of the band's previous releases. The US-version includes the top-selling 12" of all time, "Blue Monday", and showcases a move towards electronic dance music.

On the Billboard Music Charts (North America), "Blue Monday" peaked at #5 on the Club Play Singles chart.
