The Porsche Carrera GT is a sportscar and a supercar automobile manufactured by Porsche.
The Carrera GT was originally designed as a race car for Le Mans, but due to a change in regulations it was set aside until, in 2000, it was shown to the world as a road car concept. In 2004, production of 1500 cars started. It costs $440,000 USD.
The GT's 5.7 litre V10 produces 605 SAE horsepower, taking the car from 0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds with a maximum speed of 205 mph. This performance is not surprising given its light weight of 3042 lb. (1,380 kg.).
Technology of note includes a pure Carbon fiber monocoque and subframe, dry-sump lubrication and inboard suspension
Other supercar rivals include the Ferrari Enzo and the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
