The Porsche 993 is the Porsche 911 model produced from 1994 until 1998. Several variants were made including the Carrera (coupe), the Cabriolet, the Targa (with a sliding glass roof), the four wheel drive Turbo and the lightweight RS and GT2 models.
The standard naturally aspirated engine produces 272 bhp (203 kW) (engine M64 05/06) and from 1996, when equipped with Porsche's Varioram system, 285 bhp (213 kW) (engine M64 21/22). The twin turbo M64/60 engine produces 408 bhp (304 kW).
The 993 is the last 911 model range to feature air-cooled engines. Many Porsche fans therefore, regard it as the last of the 'true' 911s before the water cooled 996 series of 1997.
