Polypoetes
In Greek mythology, Polypoetes (or Polypoets) was the name of several individuals:
- Polypoetes was a son of Hippodamia and Pirithous. A native of Gyrtone, he led the armies of Thessaly on the side of the Greeks during the Trojan War. He was among those who vied for Helen's hand in marriage, and later occupied the Trojan horse. After the war, the was present at the funerals of Calchas and Patroclus.
- Polypoetes was the son of Apollo and Phthia. He was killed by Aetolus.
- Polypoetes was one of the suitors of Penelope.
- Polypoetes was the son of Odysseus and Callidice; after his mother's death he became king of the Thesprotians.
