Plasma cells are B lymphocytes that secrete immunoglobulins (antibodies). Their appearance (on light microscopy) is quite characteristic: they have basophil plasma and an excentric nucleus, in addition to a pale zone in the cytoplasm that (on electron microscopy) contains an extensive Golgi apparatus.
