Pikmin 2
Pikmin 2 is a direct sequel to Pikmin for the Nintendo GameCube. In Pikmin 2, Olimar returns to the planet with his new assistant, Louie, to find various treasures to bring back to Hocotate.
The Pikmin
The red, yellow, and blue Pikmin from the previous game return, along with two new colors of pikmin; purple and white. Unlike the others, they do not have an onion. Instead, they are created when an exsiting Pikmin is thrown into a Candypop Bud.
- Purple Pikmin are heavier than the others and can push down certain objects, such as buttons. They are also stronger (1 purple Pikmin has the strength of 10 of any other color) and slower. These Pikmin can stun an enemy when they are thrown on it.
- White Pikmin are poisonous and can defeat any enemies that eat them. They are also immune to poionous gasses, can uncover buried treasures, and are faster than other Pikmin.
- The yellow Pikmin have a new ability of being resistant to electricity. (There are no bomb rocks in this game).
Bulbmin
Bulbmin are small creatures that you can control after you defeat a master Bulborb. They come in groups of ten and are immune to water, fire, electricity, and poison. However, they are only found in caves and will not leave them.

Other new features
The new features of Pikmin 2 include:
- No 30-day time limit
- Olimar and Louie can help out the Pikmin
- Collectable berries which can be used as sprayable objects and increase the Pikmin's strength
- A 2-player mode
- A total of 201 treasures to collect
