Pierre Lescot



         


Pierre Lescot (c.1510-1578) was a French architect active during the early Renaissance. Beginning in 1546, he built the earliest parts of the palace that would become the Louvre. Nearly all of his known works have sculptural decoration by Jean Goujon.
