The Peugeot 306 is a sub-compact car manufactured by Peugeot. It was originally launched in March 1993 and was produced until 2001.
The 306 is identical mechanically to the Citroen ZX, which was launched two years earlier, and both cars use the same floorpan and core structure. Using the familiar PSA powertrains to drive the front wheels, the 306 was criticised for lacking in design flair, since it was intended to partially replace the 205. Initially, the car was only available as a hatchback, but sedan, station wagon and convertible bodystyles became available in later years.
