Pereyaslav



         


Pereyaslav, also known as Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyy or Pereyaslav-Khmelnytskyi since 1943, is a historical city in the Ukraine by the Trubezh River.

It should not be confused with the Khmelnytskyy city, also in the Ukraine, by the Southern Bug River.

First references are dated by 907. It was ruined during the Mongol invasion of Russia in 1239. It the second half of the 16th century in became a center of the Ukrainian cossacks.
