Patrick Joseph Lucey (born March 21, 1918) was a member of the Democratic Party who served as Governor of Wisconsin from 1971 - 1977. He was also an independent vice-presidential candidate in 1980 with John Anderson.
Lucey was born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, attended St. Thomas College, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, after serving in the Army during World War II. He served as Governor until he was appointed the Ambassador to Mexico in 1977 by President Jimmy Carter, which he held until 1979
