Palms, California

Palms is a primarily residential neighborhood on the west side of Los Angeles, California south of the Los Angeles neighborhoods of West Los Angeles and Beverlywood, west of "mid-city" and southwest Los Angeles, east of the Los Angeles neighborhood of Mar Vista, and north of the city of Culver City, California. It is known primarily as containing one of Los Angeles County's two Little Indias, the other being in the city of Artesia in southeastern Los Angeles County. Many Indian and Pakistani restaurants and shops line Venice Boulevard in Palms. Palms also contains two mosques and the California headquarters of the Hare Krishna movement. Despite its close proximity to Beverly Hills and to a lesser extent West Hollywood and Westwood, it is considered one of the few areas of the west side that has not undergone gentrification.

Rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg was acquitted for reasons of self defense of killing an Ethiopian immigrant in a small park in Palms in 1993.
