Generally speaking, paid inclusion is a business practice relevant to the operators (usually corporations) of world wide web search engines. As such, it is the practice of charging money for the guarantee that a specific web site will be included in search results.

Some detractors of paid inclusion allege that it causes searches to return results based more on the economic standing of the interests of a web site, and less on the relevancy of that site to end-users.
