Oregon Country Fair
The Oregon Country Fair arises every year from wetlands outside Eugene, Oregon, for one long weekend bash with 50,000 people. The Country Fair, which started as a barter and craft fair in the late 1960s, offers an earthy mix of village atmosphere that harkens back to a prehistoric urbanity. Although generally considered a family event, it is pretty wild by puritan standards, has been described as "very hippy".
The real event occurs after dark. Regular ticket holders are never allowed there at this time, entry is on invite-only.
