Oh Yeah! Cartoons was a 1998 semi-animated cartoon-themed variety show; produced by Frederator Incorporated that ran as a part of the Nicktoons lineup on the Nickelodeon cable channel. Hosted by Kenan Thompson of Kenan and Kel fame, the show carried both company-directed animated shorts and cartoons based on viewer-submitted concept suggestions.
The series was created by Fred Seibert, then the president of MTV Networks and Hanna-Barbera Productions. At the time, the program was often seen as a parody or a lesser copy of the What-a-Cartoon Show on Cartoon Network. Looked on by the industry as overly ambitious, Nickelodeon's Oh Yeah! half hour featured in its first season, 39 brand new seven-minute cartoons in 13 episodes; at the time, this show featured more new cartoons and characters than in any other single network.
A few of the ideas developed for Oh Yeah! were later spun-off by Frederator into free-standing animated series: The Fairly OddParents, ChalkZone, and My Life as a Teenage Robot.
