Norman D. Dicks



         


Norman DeValois Dicks (born December 16, 1940), American politician, has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1977, representing the Sixth Congressional District of Washington.

Born in Port Orchard, Washington, he attended the University of Washington, graduating with a degree in Law. Immediately upon graduation, he became legislative and administrative assistant to long-serving U.S. Senator Warren G. Magnuson of Washington State.

He was elected to the House in 1976, and was appointed in his first term to the House Appropriations Committee. He also serves on the Select Committee on Homeland Security.

Dicks is running for his fifteenth term in the election to be held on 2 November 2004.
