Noorder-Koggenland (population: 10,513) is a municipality in the north-western Netherlands, in the province of North Holland. The municipality covers an area of 51.00 km².
The municipality of Noorder-Koggenland consists of the following towns, villages and townships: Abbekerk, Benningbroek, Hauwert, Lambertschaag, Midwoud, Oostwoud, Opperdoes, Sijbekarspel, Twisk.
Abbekerk is a city with about 2.000 citizens, located about 10 km north of Hoorn. It received city rights in 1414. The church of Abbekerk has a tower dating from 1656.
Opperdoes is an old village, which has a certain fame for its local variety of potatoes, "Opperdoezer Ronde". Its population was 1.860 on January 1st, 2004.
The main touristic attraction is the old steam train station on the Pieter Wijdenes, a Dutch mathematician and teacher.
