Nicole Fontaine is a French politician, member of the European Parliament for the European People's Party-European Democrats. She was the European Parliament president from 1999 to 2001, and then was replaced by Pat Cox, from the European Liberal, Democrat and Reform Party because a treaty signed by both EPP-DE and ELDR at the start of the term.
