Newsround
Newsround is a BBC children's news programme, which has run continuously since 1972. It was presented between that date and 1989 by John Craven. Since then it has had various presenters such as Roger Finn, Julie Etchingham, Chris Rogers, Juliette Morris, Krishnan Guru-Murthy, Matthew Price, Becky Jago and Kate Sanderson.
As of July 2004, the current presenters are Lizo Mzimba, Laura Jones and Ellie Crisell.
Newsround was the first BBC programme to break the news of the loss of the Space Shuttle Challenger.
There are now short bulletins at the weekend and a special entertainment news, called Newsround Showbiz. These, however, are only available on the CBBC channel.
