News ticker
- A News Ticker is a small screen space on News networks dedicated to minor pieces of news.
Most stations (CNN for example) will have the bottom tenth of the screen devoted to a horizontally scrolling banner giving off news mini news stories. Use of well known abbrevations optimizes the performances of such systems.
Networks that focus on sports will use a slightly different system, where the scores and status of current and finished games will be displayed one by one, along with minor sports highlights.
