The New York Times Company is an American media corporation, best known for owning the New York Times newspaper. It also owns the Boston Globe and International Herald Tribune plus 16 smaller newspapers; eight television stations; two radio stations in New York City; and more than 40 Web sites.
It had 2003 revenues of $3.2 billion. Since 1967 it has been a publicly traded company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol NYT.
The company dates back to the founding of the New York Times on September 18, 1851.
