Netcat

In computing, Netcat, the "TCP/IP Swiss Army Knife", is a versatile network utility for reliable network connections, on either TCP or UDP.

While designed in a thin and simple way, netcat is equally suited for powering larger applications, as well as being used to quickly whip up network connections, both inbound and outbound.

The author of netcat is known only as *hobbit*.

A Windows version of netcat was created by Chris Wysopal.
