National Assembly of Pakistan
The National Assembly is the lower house of the bicameral Parliament of Pakistan. Members of the National Assembly are elected by the people in competitive multi-party elections. There are 345 seats in the National Assembly of Pakistan. The President of Pakistan, under Article 58(2)b of the Constitution of Pakistan, has the authority to dissolve the National Assembly. The leader of this house of Parliament also serves as the country's Prime Minister. The Speaker of the House acts as the president of the country if both the President and the Chairman of the Senate are not present. Every citizen of Pakistan aged 26 or above is eligible to become a member of the House if he or she wins from his or her electoral ward in an election.
