Naked means being without clothes.
Naked exists as the Neutral Point of View (NPOV) term, halfway between nude and stripped.
Two other similar terms, nude and stripped define a continuum, as follows:
It is usually acceptable to be naked in private, or in the presence of other people of the same gender. For this reason, when it is necessary for people to be stripped, they are usually separated (one-at-a-time), or separated by gender, and are stripped (or supervised) by officials of their gender. When this is not done, those being stripped will often be successful in filing lawsuits against the authorities.
Being stripped usually amounts to being naked among persons of the same gender, in contrast to nudism which generally refers to mixed-gender nakedness.
Being nude tends to imply public nakedness, i.e. being naked with others, or images of nakedness displayed to others (such as a painting of a "nude" which many people can or will see).
Being stripped does not necessarily imply public stripping. For example, authorities will often try to balance the needs of safety, with the needs of security, and provide private or gender-separated places for people to strip or be stripped.
Nakedness in and of itself does not imply or suggest whether one is alone, with others of the same gender, in mixed company, or in the wider public.
