Muntenia or Greater Wallachia is a historical province of Romania. It is situated between the Danube (in South and East), the Carpathian Mountains and Moldovia (in North) and the Olt in West. The latter river is the border between Muntenia and Oltenia or Lesser Wallachia.
The capital of Romania, Bucharest, is situated in Muntenia.
