Mudgee is a town in central New South Wales. It is located in a broad fertile valley about 300 km north west of Sydney. Mudgee is near the Cudgegong River. It has about 9000 inhabitants.
The Mudgee area was settled by Europeans about 1830.
Mudgee has developed as a wine producing region and is popular destination for people to visit wineries.
