Morey Amsterdam (December 14, 1908 - October 28, 1996) was a veteran television actor and comedian, renowned for his large, ready supply of jokes.
He was the first host of a variety and talk show called Broadway Open House, television's first late-night entertainment show, on the DuMont Television Network. Among his guests was a song and dance man named Art Carney.
On The Dick Van Dyke Show Amsterdam played the role of Buddy.
