Milton Academy is a private, college-preparatory, coed boarding school in Milton, Massachusetts, United States.
Milton Academy was established in 1798 and is a school for both boarding and day students in a 40 to 60% ratio. Considered a liberal school, it has been the educator of many well-known families including Kennedys, Roosevelts and Rockefellers. Senator Edward Kennedy delivering the graduation speech in 2002. In 2003, Bill Clinton delivered the graduation speech.
The school is situated within Milton's residential suburbia and is accessible by Boston's public transit system, the "T". The campus is spread across roughly 50 acres, with 17 tennis courts for the undefeated (2004) tennis team, 12 sports fields, and 7 squash courts. Milton also has a track, hockey rink, fitness center, and a brand new student center opened in 2003. Students at Milton are actively involved in the 46 student organizations, especially the nationally-competitive speech team, the 5 a capella groups, and a broad range of special interest clubs ranging from Science Fiction Club to Asian Society.
