Mills College is a private women's liberal arts college located in Oakland, California. It was founded in 1852. It was originally the Young Ladies Seminary at Benicia.
The post graduate program however, is co-educational, and is noted for being the forefront of experimental music study and composition amongst major music schools. Steve Reich attended here, as well as a famous synthesizer designer.
