Mick Goodrick is a jazz guitarist.
Mick was the teacher of such notable musicians as Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Wolfgang Muthspiel. Considered the father of the "Boston Sound" of jazz guitar, Mick's approach is best exemplified in the playing of John Abercrombie, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Mike Stern and Pat Metheny. His book, The Advancing Guitarist is a manual for serious guitarists of all styles. Mick is also the author of a series of books addressing the intricacies of harmonic voice-leading.
