Memorial Stadium, Berkeley

Built with money raised from public contributions, as a memorial to the fallen of World War I. Chair of the architectural committee was John Galen Howard, who designed many of the classic buildings of the Berkeley campus, including Sproul and Wheeler Halls, the Sather Tower, and the Cloyne Court Hotel.

The stadium has no track, so the stands come right up to the football field.
