The Mark 82 (Mk82) is a 500lb. nonguided general purpose bomb (a dumb bomb).

The Mk82 series was developed in the 1950s, in response to the US Air Force's want of a more aerodynamic bomb. In that way, it is known as an LDGB (Low Drag General Purpose Bomb). It was used to great effect mainly in the Persian Gulf War.
