Marcia Gay Harden



         




Marcia Gay Harden (born August 17, 1959 in La Jolla, California) is an American actress. She graduated from the University of Texas with a B.A. in theatre and earned an MFA from the graduate theatre program of New York University. She is married to Thaddaeus Scheel.

She appeared on Broadway in Tony Kushner's Angels in America in 1993 and has appeared in the films Meet Joe Black (1998), Pollock (2000), (for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress) and Mystic River (2003) (for which she received a second Oscar nomination).
