In anatomy, lumbar is an adjective which means of or pertaining to the abdominal segment of the torso, between the diaphragm and the sacrum (pelvis).

Examples:

  1. a well designed chair provides lumbar support.
  2. There are five lumbar vertebrae (L1-L5).
