Lugo

Lugo is a city in northwestern Spain, the capital of the province of Lugo in the autonomous community of Galicia. The municipality had a population of 89,509 in 2002.

Located on a Celtic site above the Rio Minho and named for the Celtic god Lugh, it is the only city in Spain to be surrounded by completely intact Roman walls, which reach a height of 10 to 15 metres along a 3 km circuit ringed with 85 towers.

Besides the walls, sights include the cathedral and the Museo Provincial, which shows a display of Gallego art.
