The London Borough of Redbridge is a London borough of outer northeast London. It was formed by the merger of the Essex Boroughs of Ilford and Wanstead and Woodford in 1965 (along with part of Dagenham and part of Chigwell Urban District), and its name comes from a bridge over the Aldborough Hatch
