LL.D.



         


An LL.D. (meaning Doctor of Laws in Latin) is a degree given for "proof of distinction by some original contribution to the advancement of the science or study of law". This doctoral degree, usually honorary (requiring no formal study), is usually given for exceptionally insightful and distinctive publications, containing significant and original contributions to the science and/or study of law.
